Our Trainers:
With our commitment to continual improvement, we strive to provide the highest quality and efficient training achievable for our clients. Our certified brain trainers undergo an extensive, rigorous, practical hands-on training program, exceeding the franchise requirements. In addition to engaging in interactive work sessions, our trainers are regularly observed and mentored by the Executive Director who closely monitors the training program for each student. Implementing intense and challenging training sessions combined with the proper sequencing of the procedures provides a personalized program that is tailored specifically to maximize strengthening the cognitive skills for that student in the shortest time.
Intensity is a key factor in any cognitive skills brain training program. A trainer must push their student to achieve each criterion just below the frustration point. Our certified trainers excel with intensity!
Our Executive Director:
Portia Tome earned her master’s degree in speech/language pathology from the University of Hawaii. She is ASHA certified as a CCC-SLP and licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Delaware. Portia has been a resident of the West Chester area since 1997, having relocated to this area when her husband’s software development business landed a contract for a New York based company. Born and raised in Hawaii, she worked in the public schools providing speech and language services. Soon after the birth of her daughter, Portia’s entrepreneurial drive and interest in children inspired her to open a baby and juvenile specialty products retail business in Hawaii. She continued to manage this business remotely until it was sold in 2007.
Portia discovered the LearningRx opportunity while researching alternatives to prescription medication treatments for her son’s late diagnosis of ADHD. The cognitive skills brain training programs provided by LearningRx has helped 60% of their ADHD clients to get off or reduce the dosage of their medication. Portia’s decision to open a LearningRx brain training center was fueled by her passion for working with children and her ability to help others in the community with learning struggles, ADHD and cognitive skills weaknesses. Recently, the brain training center has transitioned to become an independent provider of the LearningRx programs known as PACE and Master the Code. As a provider, Kalei Learning & Brain Training Center offers education enhancement programs along with the cognitive skills training and reading programs.
